About Janette
Janette Nakoa is a mother of two and a graduate of the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico, Aguadilla Campus, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with a minor in Psychology.
She has had the privilege of working with children and youth facing emotional and behavioural challenges, as well as with their families. She has also gained hands-on experience supporting children with special needs and neurodiverse learners.
Who Am I? reflects her heart for helping every child understand, accept, and advocate for who they are.
Writing and illustrating
Janette both writes and illustrates her books, which means the words and the pictures are shaped by the same hand — and by the same conviction that a child should be able to see themselves on the page.
